Config.Sys - Digital Mayhem (CD)

Config.Sys new album is arguably the most dance floor friendly album yet, even surpassing its critically acclaimed predecessor “Silver Stripes” in its slick combination of an intriguing technoid groove with upfront industrial aggression. Once again, project mastermind Krabbe leaves us in no doubt about the core element of the config.sys sound: The rhythm, produced with sophistication (and yet sounding so simple), constantly pushing the good 45 minutes of “Digital mayhem” forward.tthroughout the 10 tracks, there’s a plethora of variation and details to be found, so they just seem to pass in a flash. raw industrial hooklines (“torn of mind”), abrasive walls of feedback (“bilnde wut”) or desolate creeping soundscapes (“loss of reality”) clash with solemn rhythmic workouts (“fuck the inner circle”), doomcore-flavoured heaviness (“loops of tomorrow”) or vibrant techno and electro references (“motor”).

This highly enjoyable package of tunes comes in a black foldout cardboard cover with copper printing.
