After several years of silence, the two former members of Malochia (1995-2001) Patrick and Rene present their debut album as the Amsterdam based electro/dark wave band CONTRAST. With this release they move one step forward into a universe of darkness embracing haunting melodies and emotional atmospheres. Although mainly influenced by Gothic/wave and (oldskool) ebm and industrial, their style varies from guitar driven songs like "Insecure" and "Chained to the Past" to harsh electronic dance floor oriented tracks like "Follow the Leaders" and "Eye of the Storm".
Dark atmospheric songs ("Encrypted Anger" and "Senseless") and more classic ebm influenced works as "Testify" and "Antidote" make this album very divers in its kind. It deliberately is the intention not to stick to one specific concept, just to make it possible to feed their desire to incorporate many influences and styles.
