Saigon Blue Rain, formerly Stupid Bitch Reject was formed in Paris, France at the end of 2012 by Ophelia and Franck. Their first self-titled EP, released in 2013 had been critically acclaimed. Between 2014 and 2016 they released two albums (What I Don't See and Noire Psyché) which gave them the opportunity to perform at famous dark festivals such as Wave Gotik Treffen or NCN Festival and to support Swiss band The Beauty Of Gemina on their German tour.
In the beginning the duo used to combine cold wave and ethereal wave, inspired by bands like The Cure, And Also The Trees or Cocteau Twins, the whole sound melted with shoegaze influences. With their 3rd album Pink Obsession - to be released on the Hungarian label Dichronaut Records on April 25th 2019 - SBR's work draws a watershed moment, more anchored in pop and electronic sounds. BPD (borderline personality disorder) starts the album with a character, yearning for the manic phase she/he's knows only too well in which everything is brighter. The character associates pink colour with this state, hence the album title.
