Review from “We Can – Utopia (France)” :
“I have been seduced by a great synthpop sound that has nothing to be ashamed of when compared to his ancestors like OMD, Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode.
It is clear that the lead track on the album is "Miles Away" that a beautiful synthpop melody, simple but very efficient, leads to a slightly melancholic mood, but without ever being depressing, accentuated by the male vs female duet (Soe V and Zen), as well as the associated video emphasising this atmosphere.
My other favourite tracks are "The Curve", "By your side" and "For All My Sins" which are the worthy legacy of the 80's New Wave, modernized and that has nothing to envy the British or Swedish productions.
In fact, I even enjoyed those more than some of the songs included on the new OMD’s album, which is still one of the leaders of the synthpop movement. The synthetic sound is pure and serves slightly melancholic melodies but yet catchy and energetic.
The surprising song is "Mon Ami" (“My Friend”), the only one performed in French, and it works very well, especially since it is carried, as “Miles Away”, by male / female voices.
In the album, there is also a cover of Tears For Fears’s "Mad World. The good idea is to have done it as a duet; it is a very nice piece.
To sum it up: a very good album to discover."
