Here's a review of two albums by Galaxy Hunter (and some of the songs out of it)

One thing that has grabbed me about Myspace is the outstanding talent that is out there eith artists such as Northern kind, Future Daze, Machine Boy & Geigertek to name a few. The other aspect I love about Myspace is you can reach out to other artists all over the world which brings me to the latest band I have discovered, they come from Poland and are called "Galaxy hunter" and they make electronic music that is absorbing and unique and is so catchy it is very hard to believe that this band hails from eastern Europe.

The main man behind the band is Zbigniew Danielewicz and boy is he talented! The main vocalist is Monika Novak and she has a voice that immediately catches your attention and the two of them together have recorded some fantastic songs.

Zbigniew has sent me a batch of songs and thought at the very least it deserved a full review, so here we go:

"Alchemy Of Time" is what great 80's type electronic music should sound, great rhythm and melodies galore! Brilliant synth lines, reminded me of the solo work of Michael cretu (Before his work under the Enigma name). The vocal Monika delivers works really well with the music. I really love this track.

"Apollo 1969" is very atmospheric and uptempo with lead synth sounds, as the title suggests this is a song about the Apollo missions, I remember the moon landing watching it with my mum & dad on a black & white TV! Again I liken this to early Michael cretu stuff.

"Children Of Planet Earth" wow this has everything superb production and a powerful song, great bass line and the melodies are to die for. This is a perfect pop song, infact this is the song that made me get in touch with the band. Think 80's with a slight hint of trance and you won't go far wrong, brilliant composition. Expect this to be played on one of my radio shows!

"Eyes On Mars" again is a very atmospheric with superb sounds, a great chorus line which you easily find yourself humming along to. This collection of songs just has to be listened to with headphones, what an experience. Great vocals, very impressed with Monika's vocals. Zbigniew describes Galaxy Hunter's music as "Space Music" and he is spot on with that assessment, a very unique sound.

"One Orbit way" is drenched in synthetic sounds with quite a little catchy lead synth, production again is out of this world and the synths, well I am in heaven with some of the sounds Zbigniew uses, he certainly knows how to create great sounds from synthesizers. This one has a bit of a europop feel about it.

"Space Ship One" starts off with a distant pad sound that is quite eirie before the melody lines kick in, another superb slice of synth pop. It is a track that really shows how well the music and vocals suit each other. Zbigniew has a great way of getting good depth to his sounds especially on this track.

"The Astronaut" has an Erasure like intro (Very Vince Clarke) and a great bass synth puncuating the track, great leads, great drums, great synths, this track has it all. Vocoded vocals on this track which add to the atmospherics of the track, another catchy synth pop gem.

"We Came From Space" has a great chugging bass line as it's intro with some neat sound effects, then one hell of a melody line, brilliant!! A firm favourite with me this song, I love everything about it, fantastic production, a brilliant mix of sounds and another excellent vocal line, what a cracking track!!

"We Create The Future" is the final track of this selection of songs and it does n't disappoint. Another terrific track with all the elements I expected having listened to the previous tracks.

This band deserves to be massive, I'm not sure how well they are known in Poland but all I can say as a listerner here in the UK is that this is a collection of truly original and unique songs all with a "Space" theme. I am very impressed with what I have heard and they have talent by the sack load.

They have released 2 albums "We Came From Space" and "Sleeping Child" and judging from the tracks I have heard they are both sure to be stunning albums.
