Two years after their acclaimed album ABSØLUTIØN (Rehab/Trisol Digital) and a whirlwind European tour spanning over 30 performances, incl. major appearances at Gothic music festivals, This Eternal Decay returns with their fifth studio album, SPETTRO.

Building on a foundation of darkwave, industrial, and synthpop, the band’s new release promises to be their darkest, most introspective work yet. Set to release in February 2025 through Trisol Music Group for digital platforms and Swiss Dark Nights for CD and vinyl, SPETTRO is already generating buzz, with the first digital single, "RISE & FALL" (October 18, 2024). SPETTRO delves deep into the shadowy corners of human emotion, exploring a spiral of self-destruction fueled by life’s harsh inevitabilities.

The album's nine tracks trace an unflinching path through existential struggles and introspective revelations, blending heavy industrial beats, haunting melodies, and moments of intense vulnerability. Musically, SPETTRO marks a turning point for the band, with a richer, more layered soundscape that pushes the limits of darkwave while incorporating deeper nihilistic themes.

Preceding the full album release, three singles, “Rise & Fall,” “Cold Fear,” and “Red Orchid,” offer a powerful preview of SPETTRO’s emotional depth and sonic evolution. Each track introduces listeners to a unique facet of the album’s themes, from inner conflict to moments of clarity amid chaos, showcasing the band’s ever-evolving mastery of the genre. Reflecting on an eight-year journey, This Eternal Decay has continuously redefined and pushed the boundaries of darkwave, establishing a dedicated fanbase across Europe and beyond. With SPETTRO, the band reaches a new artistic peak, delivering a project that is both a personal catharsis and a powerful musical statement for the darkwave scene.
