For more than the last twenty-five years FRAN & PAGE have brought their synthesizers to flourish under the rather controversial name of XANTHIPPE. This duo, who live in the attractive austrian town of Bad Vöslau, have already produced four albums and issue number 5 is due to be presented in the next few days.
The deepest possible feelings are conjured up using modern methods, the lovingly detailed songs are intended equally for reflection and dance.
The eighties, for some already a bygone age, are, thanks to Xanthippe's music, still very much in the present through an almost visionary way of treating the compositions to bring them right up-to-date without them sounding as though they have come from the past.
The melodies fall silent, the electronics will be eliminated by pressing the off-switch – and what remains, is melancholy.
